I'm used to the XP Control Panel in "Classic View". How to I find that in Windows 7?
Thank you.

I have Win7 Home Premium... you can get quick access to Control Panel, a couple of different ways.
1. I have Control Panel as a selectable option from the right side menu, when clicking the Start icon. You can set this link in the Start Menu by: * Right clicking the Start button and selecting Properties. * Press the Customize button. * In the drop down selection menu, check Control Panel to be displayed as a link. This will display Control Panel on the right side of the Start menu for easy access in the future.
2. Key in Control in the search box: * If you go to the Start button search box and type in control * You should see Control Panel at the top of the list provided. * Select/press the entry and Control panel will open.
Others may have different ways to get to Win7's Control Panel but these are a couple that I use.

Thank you for your quick response! Using option (1) was a totally new experience for me! I had never had reason to right click on the start icon! I now have Control Panel set on the right side, that will be easy to get to! I'll return to the properties to see what else is there! Problem with option (2)..I have a picture below to show what happened when I entered control into the search box: The control.png is a tiny icon of some sort? If I have already placed the Control Panel on the right side, will it not show up in the search box? I appreciate your help!

On mine click start and control panel shows on the right hand side, it's always been there In the search type in 'control panel' not just 'control' and it is on the top of the list on my Win 7 right clicking the start button is the same as right clicking the task bar

Following your instructions, "Control Panel" is still not showing at the top: The "Control Panel" is still not at the top? Interesting?

Maybe this ... Using option 1 from my post... open the Properties and scroll down. See if there is a setting for Search and Control panel, see if its checked, if not check it, then see if CP shows in the search.
Also, is you hard drive set for Indexing, to speed up search results? If so, try playing with this ON/OFF see if this makes any difference.

Another easy way is right click anywhere on the desktop and choose personalize, and the Control link is in the upper left corner
