I went to the Proboards Support Forum but you have to register a membership to ask a question so I declined.
It sounds like they are going to punt this anyway since Pale Moon is just Firefox.
I can get rid of all of the carets by modifying the board's css. That just keeps some of the junk off of my screen, not anyone else's.
Oh well, maybe it will work itself in a future version of PM. Thanks for trying.

There is obviously some difference between FF and Pale Moon because Lisa said she uses FF here with no issue. Sorry you have to edit a CSS script to get around it.
How do you do that... create a script and have it execute with your browser? Because your not actually changing the boards CSS script.

That's cool... so FF add-ons are generally compatible with PM, because it (PM) uses the same "core" coding. Looks like you fixed the issue already.

No, I can remove the carets on my browser but not yours. I can't remove the last line of code - looks like javascript or something. The code does not appear when I use the Quick Reply function but it is there then I use the full editor. Like now. <script type="text/javascript">function print(m) {}</script>

Looks like a print function line... is there any line like this in your Stylish setup? Just really curious as to where this line of code resides. :dontknow:

Stylish and Greasemonkey are the usual culprits.
I'm going to disable both of them and see if it makes any difference.
Hmm - it may be a Greasemonkey problem. I'm just going to edit this a couple of times and see if I can narrow it down a bit.
OK, it seems to be 2 errant Greasemonkey scripts. I got rid of the strange line of code but the carets are still there .

I assume your removing the carets in Stylish... because the post looks clean.

The carets come from a GM script that adds Go To Top/Go To Bottom commands. It was probably conflicting with the board's built in command.
The javascript was coming from a script that prevents sites from automatically switching to "Print view".
I disabled them for proboards sites and that will hopefully clear up the problem. Greasemonkey is a great extension but it can cause a lot of trouble.

Sorry you have to disable anything... but it's good you looked into these extensions. Hopefully this will resolve the issue for you. So it's not a Pale Moon issue but an extension issue. So going forward with PM updates should be OK for you. Good job Jim. :thumbleft:

That's just the nature of some of these extensions.
If I write a script or a style that works on 99% of the web pages in the world there is always going to be 1% that it doesn't play nice with.
I should have suspected Greasemonkey a lot sooner.

That's true... nothing is ever 100% absolute. Well, at any rate, I'm glad you got to the cause of the problem.
