Yesterday I ran: Microsoft Safety Scanner - Antivirus Remove Spyware, Malware, Viruses Free www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspxIt took 4 hours for a full scan, did not find any threats; however I sure did feel as though it did a thorough scan! I typically use Malwarebytes for Spyware and Malware. Has anyone else used this scanner and what are your thoughts?

The Microsoft Safety Scanner (MSS) is a free portable on-demand scanning tool (32-bit & 64-bit versions) released on April 15, 2011 following the discontinuation of Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner. Microsoft Safety Scanner is designed to be a supplement to an existing anti-virus program (not a replacement) and uses the same anti-malware and anti-virus definitions as Microsoft Security Essentials for removing malicious files. The Safety Scanner does not provide real-time protection and expires 10 days after being downloaded so there is no need to keep it permanently on your computer. If you need to rerun the Safety Scanner at a future time, just redownload it again in order to ensure the tool has the latest anti-malware definitions.

QM7 thank you for the definition. If you are able to share, IYO how do you feel (MSS) compares to Malwarebytes, Spybot S&D, SUPER AnitSpyware and such? I do use MSE for my Windows 7.
